The Social Outreach Ministry of the Vincentian Andhra Society successfully organized a large-scale medical and welfare initiative at St. Joseph’s Parish, Irusumanda, benefiting more than 150 students from the parish and surrounding villages. The programme was conducted under the leadership and pastoral care of Fr. Vinay Sagar CM, Parish Priest of Irusumanda, whose commitment towards the holistic development of children and families continues to inspire the local community.
The camp aimed not only at providing medical assistance but also at promoting awareness regarding hygiene, nutrition, personal care, and the importance of regular health check-ups among children. Students received medical consultations, basic health screenings, and necessary guidance from healthcare professionals and volunteers who participated in the mission with great dedication and compassion.
This initiative reflects the Vincentian spirit of service — reaching out to the poor, the vulnerable, and the neglected with love and dignity. The programme also highlighted the Church’s mission of caring for both the spiritual and physical well-being of the people, especially children in rural areas who often lack access to adequate healthcare facilities.
Parents, teachers, and parishioners expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, doctors, volunteers, and benefactors who made the programme possible. The event became a meaningful witness to Christian charity in action and strengthened the bond between the Church and the local community.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Vinay Sagar CM emphasized that the Church must continue to stand with the needy through concrete acts of compassion and service. He also thanked the members of the Vincentian Andhra Society for their tireless efforts in organizing such humanitarian initiatives for the welfare of society.
The parish community of Irusumanda looks forward to conducting many more social outreach programmes in the future, especially in the areas of education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and rural development, in order to build a healthier and hope-filled society rooted in Gospel values.
